There are 6 kinds of Gamlas available.

The Gamla is a modified potted plant. Plants surround the organic waste
while decomposition takes place in the central pipe. Gamlas are ideally
combined with a Kambha to manage organic waste generated by a family
of 4. If you want to manage all your organic waste at home using the
Gamlas, you will need around 15-30 Gamlas.

 A Gamla is ideal to keep next to the sink where you wash your utensils. The food waste that is remaining on plates can be scrapped off and put into the Gamla for it to compost over time.

Gamlas make great “grihapravesham” gifts.

The Gamla is also great to get children started on understanding
