Gamla

You buy the Gamla range of products to help you compost if you are fond of potted plants, and have a lot of space to keep pots.

FAQ's

Although the gamla range of products are easy to use, you might reach a roadblock at times. We hope the following suggestions will help you.

Is it better to use Patta Kambhas or Gamlas for garden waste?

You can use both Gamlas as well as Patta Kambha for garden waste.

Do I need to add any accelerator to my Gamla?

Adding accelerator helps but is not critical. You can use the Daily Dump accelerator or use any other that you know about.

My Gamlas fill up too fast.

You should then use more Gamlas and also use a Leave-It Pot to distribute the composting material for effective and hassle free composting.

I find it difficult to remove the semicomposted material every 15 days.

Either you can use 2 Kambhas instead – or get the Daily Dump Service Plan and it will be done for you.

What can I add instead of dried leaves?

Shredded newspaper is a good substitute for dried leaves. You should shred it fine and scatter it over the pile so that it does not clump when you add water. The bleach and chlorine of the paper in such small quantities is not a problem.

Why do I need to use Gamlas at all then?

I can just use Kambhas or Mota Lotas. Gamlas are useful in the garden for garden waste and where potted plants are already in use. Some customers like putting small bits of odd waste into the Gamlas. Gamlas are handy to dump waste in balconies and corridors.

What happens when I go out of town?

No problem, the compost enjoys the break! Just check moisture levels when you get back.
