We started with 3 people in the core team, 2 in the support team, Potter families and Our families. You can contact us to say “Hello” and also send us gifts. We have chai breaks every one hour! And we particularly like fried snacks and cakes.
Poonam Bir Kasturi is called the Compostwali.
Kanyika Kini is the compost chutki who is now married and gone away to Germany.
Shashwati B is another compost chutki who is still a hovering support for
Daily Dump.
Pratima Rao is the compost supporter who can be depended upon for crises
support.
Nidhi Berera another compost supporter who created our aprons!
Ramkrishnappa of Palamner and the 40 families there
Ramkrishnappa of Narayanpura who did the first prototypes
Poonam’s family had to bear the brunt of compost testing during a particularly wet monsoon. The jokes about maggots got better every day. The looks of disgust and turned up noses at the smells thankfully stopped once we started getting it right. The house itself looks like a pottery godown! Sasha’s and Kani’s families wondered if Daily Dump was the right career move for their just graduated stars! But they enjoyed themselves so much that their families forgave them for not making much money. And now that they are part of the “real world” they fondly recall their time in the “studio / shed “.
Poonam’s sis-in-law Kavita Kasturi, nephew Dhruv and husband Dr Anand Kasturi made our visual story emerge with élan. And Jaggi the photographer shot our “perception make-over” shots very generously thanks to Ramesh Kalkur.
Daily Dump has had many people contribute along the way.
We would like to acknowledge their help and suggestions
Rasika Batra (who shared all the esoteric marketing and branding knowledge
so generously and kept giving us hope that this was a worthwhile idea)
Dr Radha Kale, (she came to see the process at the time when we had generated
too many maggots and advised us how to tackle these)
Dr Biradar, (he gave us advice on medicinal and aromatic plants that could
be planted in the Gamlas)
Vishwanath (got us interested in composting and has been a moral support
since)
Wilma R (is an inspiration by her perseverance and focus)
Mrs Shailini Shenoy of SHOWS (everyone should see this project – its
demonstrates how everyone can make a difference by just getting on with the
job)
Balu of Excel (gave us help on the cultures and other organic supplements
that we could buy off the market)
Mrs Lakshmi Kasturi (she manages the sales of the outlet)
Mrs Asha Bir (she made sure that the first sales during the launch were documented
and service plans were adhered to)
Usha Medappa (a natural recycler tested our first prototypes)
Swati Ramanathan (gave us valuable feedback on large volumes)
Suman Balasubramiam (who taught us to become a little more scientific)
Mary Jacob (gave us insights on eggs and dogs)
Divya & Rustam Vania (who made us enjoy the service design of daily dump)
Ninan & Aasthi (who showed us how this product works when you do not
use it everyday)
Mr Govardhan (who brought the “old Bangalore” angle to the products)
Mrs Naina Chanchani (who has used the first prototypes inspite of one part
breaking, a real believer in composting!)
Uma Chandru (Uma helped with the logistics of testing the first prototypes
and took charge of managing the plants. It’s from her that we saw how
rats loved compost heaps and would burrow a lot to get to the rotting mess)
Shruti Shashidhar, Smriti Chanchani, Divya Vishwanathan, Priyanka Dilip,

Students had the opportunity to intersect with this concept at different
stages through some courses taught by Poonam as part of her teaching at the
Srishti School of Art, Design and Technology in Bangalore.
Megha, Mahua, Ria, Dhruv, Raghuvir, all young volunteers who lifted, carried,
posed, serviced and smiled as the need arose.

The website is something we will be deeply grateful to Sunil for. He is the most patient and accommodating person to work with. He also is generous so thank you Rajesh for introducing him to Daily Dump. If you like the way the website looks – talk to Gaurabh Mathure. He has provided the design services – even if he does take his time (like he says composting takes time, so why shouldn’t he?)
This website would have become "just-another-website" without Banny Banerjee's rigourous feedback. Thanks Banny!
